Everything Seems Tied to Nutrition (Haddi’s Story)

What business does an Elementary Ed major, ex-behavioral therapist, and new mommy have in the field of nutrition? Plenty! I understand what busy looks and feels like, and so do you! I understand that your time is precious, and I also know that prioritizing your health will make your life better. I want you to be able to figure out a way to make coaching work for you so you can reach your goals. Since joining the Healthy Simple Life Team, I've really learned how taking time for yourself and having balance in your life is part of the health equation. I used to work with autistic children, which requires a lot of patience and understanding. You can’t take hair pulling or profanities personally – it’s just part of the job. I certainly hope that none of you will pull our hair or cuss us out, but I want you to know that if you need to vent about how frustrated you are about your weight, health, the lies our society believes about food, or you’re just on a hangry streak, it’s ok. We're here for you. We want to help you, and we certainly won’t judge you. One of my favorite experiences with autistic kids was seeing the role nutrition can play in other areas of your health. Many parents tried dairy free and/or gluten free for their kiddos and found that it decreased the frequency of unfavorable behaviors. I’d never really made connections between nutrition and behavioral health until I saw it’s effects right before my eyes! Since I had my daughter, I realize more and more every day how important and how personal nutrition is. As I’m breastfeeding I think about how everything that goes into my mouth will end up in my sweet baby’s tummy, so every decision matters. I know that you are working hard to make the best decisions for your own health and the health of your family, and I also understand that sometimes you just don’t know where to start. I want to ease the pressure you feel about making changes to your daily habits, and let you know that our coaches are here to help you make those changes smoothly and gradually. At your pace.
